I'm going to run ads on Spotify, can I track them with Chartable?
Display Ads
If you're advertising your podcast with Spotify display ads, such as CTA cards or banner ads, you can create SmartLinks ( instructions here) for each campaign placement. First, edit the settings under Basic Info. Then, under the Conditional Redirect settings for the SmartLink, please set the Default URL to your podcast in Spotify, and leave the Device settings blank. Don't worry about any of the Landing Page settings. Following these steps will create a SmartLink that redirects to your podcast in Spotify and tracks how many downloads are driven by the campaign.
Provide the SmartLink URL for each placement to your Spotify contact for implementation into the campaign.
Audio Ads through Ad Studio
Unfortunately, audio placements through Ad Studio are not compatible with Chartable attribution at this time.
Audio Ads through a Direct Buy
If you're advertising your podcast with dynamically inserted Spotify audio ads, you’ll create an Internal Dynamic SmartPromo (instructions here). You'll need to verify with your Spotify contact the type of pixel you'll need. Then, email the created pixel to your Spotify contact for implementation into the campaign.
Note that we don't support SmartPromo attribution on:
- Music inventory audio ads (like Spotify's Audio Everywhere)
- Audio ads delivered through SAI (Streaming Ad Insertion).
Spotify Audience Network through Ad Studio
Unfortunately, Spotify Audience Network placements through Ad Studio are not compatible with Chartable attribution at this time.
Spotify Audience Network through a Direct Buy
If you meet the minimum spend requirements, you can attribute your Spotify Audience Network ads with SmartPromos. First, you’ll create an Internal Dynamic SmartPromo ( instructions here) using a Megaphone pixel type. Then, email the created pixel to your Spotify contact for implementation into the campaign.
