What is the SmartFeeds integration?

SmartFeeds makes podcast feeds durable and portable. The tool converts a podcast’s current RSS feed into a SmartFeed, which automatically updates with new episodes or changes in the original RSS feed. The SmartFeed link provides a consistent RSS feed URL for podcast directories, reducing the friction in switching between hosting platforms.

SmartFeeds also makes it easy to enable the Trackable analytics prefix, unlocking Chartable’s analytics suite with a single click. The integration can build in the prefix automatically, regardless of your show's hosting provider — making it a great solution for podcasts hosted on platforms that do not support the Trackable analytics prefix natively.

You can set up SmartFeeds by navigating to the Integrations > SmartFeeds page in your Chartable dashboard.

Once you have created your SmartFeed, you'll need to replace your current RSS feed URL with your new SmartFeed URL to podcast directories such as Apple, Spotify, Google Podcasts, Stitcher, etc (there is a great guide available here).

Please note that if you log into Spotify for Podcasters with your own Spotify for Podcasters account (previously Anchor), you may not be able to integrate Chartable's Spotify Integration. Our team is currently working on making this happen, stay tuned!

Keep in mind you will only have to do this once. If you change your hosting provider in the future, you will only have to change it within Chartable and the update will automatically flow through to all podcast directories that have your SmartFeeds URL.
