Can I automate SmartLinks creation?

If your team dashboard is on a Pro or Enterprise plan, you have the option to automate SmartLinks for episode-specific links. With this feature, you are able to:

• Automatically create SmartLinks when a new episode of your podcast is published
• Receive new automated SmartLinks via email
• Pause and resume campaigns as needed

You have the option of including an automation campaign using a new or existing SmartLink for the "blueprint" of settings that will be automatically used for future episodes.

Automating SmartLinks with New Links

First, create a new SmartLink (more on creating SmartLinks here). On the Basic Info settings, after clicking "Link to Episode" and selecting the episode from the dropdown, you'll have the option to check the box for "Automatically generate new links to future episodes."

Before finishing the creation of the SmartLink, ensure the settings are satisfactory, as any customizations will carry over to the new SmartLinks for each new episode of that podcast.

That's it! Now, whenever a new episode of the chosen podcast is published, Chartable will create a new SmartLink using the checked SmartLink as a blueprint, and send it to the email you have chosen. 

The name of the automatically created SmartLinks will be the name of the "parent" SmartLink + the publish date of the new episode.

Automating SmartLinks with Existing Links

To begin, locate an episode-specific link. Episode-specific SmartLinks will have a checkbox in the "Automated?" column that can be clicked. 

Ensure the settings for the chosen SmartLink are satisfactory, as any customizations will carry over to the new SmartLinks for each new episode of that podcast.

Check the box in the "Automated?" column, and select the email address that you would like to receive the automated SmartLinks.

That's it! Now, whenever a new episode of the chosen podcast is published, Chartable will create a new SmartLink using the checked SmartLink as a blueprint, and send it to the email you have chosen.

The name of the automatically created SmartLinks will be the name of the "parent" SmartLink + the publish date of the new episode. 

Notes: 

• If you would like to cancel a SmartLink automation campaign, simply uncheck the box under the "Automated?" column.
• We try our best to retrieve the deeplinks for the podcast players. Sometimes, we might not be able to. In these cases, you can edit the Deeplinks settings in the individual SmartLink or from the overall SmartLinks settings page. 
• To update the recipient of the automated SmartLink campaign, you'll need to uncheck the "Automated?" column for the SmartLink, immediately recheck it, and select your updated email recipient. The automated campaign will continue as normal.
• To make major changes to the automated SmartLinks campaign -- 
  1. Uncheck the existing SmartLink's "Automated?" checkbox to cancel the current automatic creation of links.
  2. Create a new episode-specific SmartLink with the desired settings.
  3. Check the new SmartLink's "Automated?" column to begin a new campaign, starting with the next episode dropped.
