How to use Facebook Pixels for SmartLinks

Adding a Facebook pixel to a SmartLink will fire an event when a user clicks on the SmartLink. Facebook can use this information to optimize your ad campaigns. We send a standard Facebook event "PageView." The Remarketing Pixel feature for SmartLinks is available for Pro and Enterprise users

Creating and Finding Your Facebook Pixel ID

1. In Facebook Event Manager click on Connect Data Sources.

2. Click on Web and then click Connect.

3. Click on Facebook Pixel then click Connect.

4. Give your pixel a name, and then click Next. If you are asked to enter a URL to verify the pixel, enter any URL of your choosing. We will install the pixel later, so we cannot verify that it is connected yet.

5. Click Install Code Manually.

6. Facebook gives you the option to enable some advanced settings. You do not need to copy the pixel code. Keep clicking Continue. You will eventually then be redirected to your pixel. Click Settings and copy the pixel ID.

Adding Your Facebook Pixel to SmartLinks

To add a Facebook pixel to your SmartLink, click the "Add New Remarketing Pixel" button in the Remarketing Pixel section when you're creating or editing a SmartLink. Select "Facebook," paste the pixel ID, and click "Save."

Facebook Pixel Events

When someone clicks on a SmartLink, the Facebook pixel is loaded and registers a page view.
