Where do the charts come from? I don't see them when I look on Apple Podcasts / Spotify.
We fetch charts directly from our chart providers as often as once an hour, and at least once per day—and we get charts from every country that we can, which means 155 different countries for Apple Podcasts!
If you're trying to find yourself on the charts, but can't, here are a few things to keep in mind:
- Check the date & time. The charts update all the time, so if you were charting yesterday or last week, you may not be charting today. (We have some work to do to make this clearer on our site; sorry about that!)
- iTunes & Apple Podcasts only show the top 200. We're certain our charts are accurate past 200, but you may not be able to see it in your own app.
- Make sure you're looking at the correct country. For example, if you're based in the US, you won't be able to see the Apple Podcasts Canadian charts easily without changing the country your iTunes account or Apple ID are associated with. (This is possible, but difficult—we don't recommend it, because it can be hard to change back.)
