What do I put in the "What's the name of the publisher you're working with?" field when creating SmartPromos?
When creating external SmartPromos, you'll either be asked "
What's the name of the publisher you're working with?" or "
Select the publisher you're working with" on the second page of SmartPromo creation, depending on the type of SmartPromo.
You'll need to select or type the name of the selling publisher's Chartable team, so that they can approve the request to share attribution for the promotion. If your contact doesn't know their team name, it can be found in the top left corner of the dashboard.
A few other notes:
- Generally, for baked-in promos, attribution will only populate if the Chartable team that has their Trackable analytics prefix on the sold podcast's RSS feed (the "owner" team) approves the promo.
- If you prefer, the Chartable support team can create an agency partnership relationship between a podcast and other team dashboards. This would allow a team other than the "owner" to approve promos for the podcast if it is sold. However, even if an agency partner team approves a promo on their dashboard, the approved promo and attribution will still only appear on the podcast's "owner" dashboard.
If Chartable prompts you to "Select the publisher you're working with"
If you see the name of the Chartable team you're working with in the list, select it. The only teams that will populate here are dashboards that you have already worked with for promos.
If you don't see the name of the selling team, select "I can't find the publisher in the list" and you will be able to type the name of the team. Then, our system will assign it to the appropriate dashboard for approval.
