How does SmartAds work?
SmartAds is designed to attribute podcast ad impressions to activity on your website and/or app. At a high level, our methodology works by “connecting the dots” between ad impressions and website or app activity:
- Ad impressions: We receive ad impression data through either our Trackable prefix or a Dynamic Ad Insertion (DAI) pixel.
- Website/app activity: We receive advertiser data (website or app activity, like conversions, leads, etc.) from integrations that the advertiser has set up. This could be a web pixel, an MMP connection, or our Server-side connection with LiveRamp.
We log the IP address & user agent associated with each impression, and work with a third-party device graph provider to remove “noisy” traffic (e.g. downloads on cellular IPs) and understand the cross-device context for the user associated with that impression.
