Spotify for Podcasters (formally Anchor) F.A.Q.
Q: Can I use Chartable if my podcast is hosted on Spotify for Podcasters (formally Anchor)?
A: Yes! Creating a dashboard and adding the show will populate reviews & chart positions.
However, please note that Spotify for Podcasters (formally Anchor) does not currently support our Trackable RSS feed integration. So, to populate download information, you'll just need to set up a SmartFeed for your show's RSS feed. Learn more about SmartFeeds here.
If you do not currently have an RSS feed for your Spotify for Podcasters podcast, you'll need to turn that feature on in Spotify for Podcasters before you can set up a SmartFeed for your show.
Be advised that Spotify takes your RSS feed directly from Spotify for Podcasters, so you cannot use your SmartFeed with Spotify. Because of this, Chartable can't "see" those downloads. However, you can see Confirmed Play information from listeners using Spotify via our Spotify integration.
Q: A podcast publisher wants to run a promotion for their podcast on my Spotify for Podcasters show, can they measure the results with a SmartPromo?
A: Yes, as long as you have a Chartable account and a SmartFeed set up for your Spotify for Podcasters show, the other team can create a Baked-In SmartPromo to measure the results of a promotion they're running in a specific episode of your show. After the other team creates the SmartPromo, it will be assigned to your Chartable team for approval. All Chartable teams can approve SmartPromos running on their shows for free.
Be advised that Spotify takes your RSS feed directly from Spotify for Podcasters, so you cannot use your SmartFeed with Spotify. Because of this, Chartable can't "see" those downloads of your show as impressions.
Since Spotify for Podcasters (formally Anchor) does not currently have a dynamic audio insertion feature, Dynamic SmartPromos are not an option. Learn more about the difference between baked-in and dynamic promotions here.
Q: Can I create a SmartPromo to measure a promotion for my show that will run in other podcasts if my show is hosted on Spotify for Podcasters (formally Anchor)?
A: Yes, but you will need to have a SmartFeed set up for your show, and you'll also need a Pro or Enterprise plan to create SmartPromos. Be advised that Spotify takes your RSS feed directly from Spotify for Podcasters, so you cannot use your SmartFeed with Spotify. Because of this, Chartable can't "see" those downloads of your show as conversions.
